Dr. Akinola Shola Akinwumiju is a Lecturer in the Department of Remote Sensing and Geoscience Information System, The Federal University of Technology, Akure, Ondo State Nigeria. He received a B.Sc. degree in Physical Geography of the University of Ilorin, Ilorin Nigeria; a M.Sc. degree in Geography (Climatology Option) of the University of Ibadan, Ibadan Nigeria; a M.Sc. degree in Remote Sensing and GIS of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife Nigeria and a Ph.D. degree in Ecology and Environmental Science (Hydrogeophysics and GIS Option) of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife Nigeria.
Akinola is actively involved in multiple research endeavours with keen interest in the application of Space Science and GIS in Earth Sciences and software development with particular interest in sub-surface, surface and atmospheric hydrological modeling. He is a member of many scientific research groups.
